These aerial photos were taken by a Canon S40 (4 Mpix) digital camera that was deployed by Starfire at the Summer Skies launch near Brothers Oregon on June 11, 2005.

Click on any image below to see a larger version of it.

This view is looking north and slightly east from the launch site.  The road into the launch site from the main highway is in the lower left corner.  The darker areas on the ground are the shadows of the clouds.  A small part of the town of Brothers is near the right side of the image.

Here the Starfire booster is seen hanging from the parachute recovery harness while still floating high above the Oregon desert.  The small black dot on the right side of the booster coupler is the lens portal for the camcorder that was also recording images on this flight.

The launch site and the dirt roads around it.  The top of the small hill where the 'away pad' was located is the green area on the left side of the image.

Another view of the road leading into the launch site from the highway.   This is looking north.

The Starfire booster parachute can just be seen on the right edge of this photo.

A section of Starfire airframe can be seen hanging from the tubular nylon shock cord in this image.  One end is connected to the parachute on the booster and the other end is connected to the parachute supporting the digital camera that took this photo.

Another view of the Starfire booster and forward airframe section floating high above the ground.

A view looking north and slightly east.  The town of Brothers is just coming in to view on the right side on this image.

The small town of Brothers can be seen in the distance near the top edge of this photo.

Another view toward the northeast with Brothers near the right hand side.

Other aerial photos from other launches can be seen here.
